CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- West Virginia lawmakers are again considering repealing the ban on Sunday liquor sales.
A measure advancing this week would also permit Sunday beer and wine sales after 10 a.m. on Sundays. They're now allowed only after 1 p.m. on those days.
The House Judiciary Committee endorsed the bill Monday. It amended the bill so counties can vote on whether to move up the time bars and clubs must stop selling alcohol from 3 a.m. to 2 a.m.
The bill advances to House Finance. It must clear that committee by Friday, under a House procedural deadline.
Similar measures have arisen during several recent legislative sessions, but have yet to pass.
