Humane Association

The Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association will have its monthly meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at 1248 Greenbrier St.

Sorority meeting

The Woman's Club of Cross Lanes will meet at 6 p.m. April 2 at Cross Lanes United Methodist Church, 5320 Frontier Drive, Cross Lanes. Jim Strawn of Highland Hospital will be the guest speaker. Club members are encouraged to bring cereal to donate to Tyler Mountain/Cross Lanes Community Services. Prospective members are welcome to attend. Reading show

Kanawha County Public Library branches will celebrate spring break week with a high-energy, fun-filled show by Steve Haberman. Magic, storytelling and audience participation help kids use their imagination to discover the power of reading. The program is for all ages. Participating branches include Sissonville Branch Library, 2 p.m. Monday; Main Library, 6 p.m. Monday; St. Albans Branch Library, 11 a.m. April 2; Elk Valley Branch Library, 6 p.m. Tuesday; Riverside Public Library, 10:30 a.m. April 3; and Dunbar Branch Library, 3 p.m. April 3.

Medicaid forum

A Medicaid expansion statewide forum and training event will take place from 2 to 3:30 p.m. April 7 at Christ Church United Methodist Church, 1221 Quarrier St. Sponsors include West Virginians for Affordable Health Care, West Virginia Council of Churches, West Virginia AFL-CIO, West Virginia Center on Budget and Policy, West Virginia Women's Commission and numerous others.
