Free tax preparation offered by State Law Library
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- West Virginia State Law Library is offering free income tax preparation for low- to middle-income taxpayers who earn less than $49,000 now through April 12. The program is limited to the preparation and e-filing of simple tax returns.
Appointments are required and may be scheduled by calling the State Law Library at 304-558-2607. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday.
The State Law Library is located on the fourth floor of the East Wing of the state Capitol, 1900 Kanawha Blvd. E. Metered parking is available near the Library Commission off the Greenbrier Street entrance to the Capitol Complex.
The State Law Library is part of the Central West Virginia Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) coalition.
