CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The Davis Creek Watershed Association will hold its annual spring watershed cleanup beginning 8:30 a.m. on April 13. The cleanup is part of a statewide effort to clean up the stream from its banks, public spaces and roadways in conjunction with the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection's "WV Make It Shine" statewide cleanup.
The WV Make It Shine activities coordinate with the national effort, the Great American Cleanup. It is also part of the Rehabilitation Environmental Action Plan Initiative of the WVDEP.
Participants should meet at the W.Q. Watters Company's office on Kanawha State Forest Drive at the Middle Fork Bridge.
Volunteers should bring rain gear in case of showers. Gloves, trash bags and lunch will be provided. For directions and information, call 304-543-1948.
