Leadership in Housing training
Family Leadership First, the WV Fair Housing Action Network, and Schoenbaum Family Enrichment Center will present a free one-day training on Leadership in Housing April 26 at the Schoenbaum Enrichment Center, 1701 Fifth Ave. Registration and a continental breakfast will be from 8:30 to 9 a.m. Regina Mayolo from the Northern West Virginia Center on Independent Living will speak on tenant rights and responsibilities and housing discrimination in West Virginia. Lunch will be provided. Following lunch, Joyce Floyd will speak on West Virginia family links and Crystal Kudlak will speak about credit budgeting and their connection to housing. Benefit craft show
Fayette County Cancer Support Group will sponsor a craft show from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 4 at the Lewis Community Center, 469 Central Ave., Oak Hill. Admission is by donation. Crafts from talented artisans will be featured. Door prizes will be drawn hourly and refreshments will be available. The cost is $35 to rent a booth. For more information, call 304-640-1120.
Diabetes Walk for a Cure
The West Virginia Branch of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation will hold its annual Walk for a Cure at 2 p.m. May 19 at the state Capitol. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. with food, activities for the family, opportunities to see the latest in insulin pump and other management technologies, team photos and more.
