W.Va. Turnpike lanes reopen after tractor-trailer wreck
MAHAN, W.Va. -- A wreck involving two tractor-trailers and several other vehicles closed southbound traffic on Interstate 77/64 near Mahan in Fayette County Monday evening.
A Fayette County dispatcher asked that drivers not enter the West Virginia Turnpike, but also asked that those already on the interstate not try to exit onto secondary roads.
The dispatcher said tractor-trailers that have exited the turnpike are clogging some of those secondary roads.
The accident has blocked the turnpike from mile marker 60 to 66, she said.
It was not immediately clear if there were any injuries.
The road remained closed at 9 p.m. One northbound lane of traffic was open by 9:10 p.m.
A southbound lane of traffic opened around 10:20 p.m.
