CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A Wood County man who admitted to collecting about 600 child pornography pictures will spend more than six years in prison.
Terry David McVey, 60, of Parkersburg, pleaded guilty earlier this year to federal child porn possession charges. On Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Robert C. Chambers sentenced McVey to 78 months in prison.
"We've taken another pedophile off the streets," U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin said in a statement. "This sentencing is yet another reminder that sexual exploitation remains a terribly serious problem in West Virginia and around the country."
McVey admitted to collecting 300 to 600 images of children performing sexual acts. Federal authorities found the images after he had downloaded them to his computer, according to Goodwin.
