Temple Israel's Issues of Conscience Film Festival continues at 6 p.m. Tuesday with a screening of "Escape From Sobibor," starring Alan Arkin and Rutger Hauer, at 2312 Kanawha Blvd E. The film is based on the true story of an uprising at the Sobibor death camp located in German-occupied Poland. A soup-kitchen dinner will be held at 5:30 p.m. A discussion of the issues raised by the film will follow the screening. There is no cost to attend.

WV Daughters of the American Revolution
The West Virginia State Society Daughters of the American Revolution will meet Friday through Sunday at the Waterfront Place Hotel in Morgantown for its 108th state conference. Ann Arnold Hunter, historian general, National Society DAR, will be the opening night speaker. Colleen Isaiah, the state winner of the DAR good citizen contest, and her parents will be guests of the WV State Society at the luncheon Saturday where she will receive the State Good Citizens pin, certificate and a check for $250. Also, James Andrew Wendt, an American history teacher at Nitro High School, will receive the History Teacher of the Year Award.
