CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Handlan Chapter of the Brooks Bird Club will sponsor a spring bird migrant walk Saturday in Springhill Cemetery. Meet at 8 a.m. at the parking lot near the cemetery office.
Bridge to bridge hike
Charleston Montessori School will host a community hike along Kanawha Boulevard from the South Side Bridge to the 39th Street Bridge and back beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. The walk will begin beneath the South Side Bridge. Families and individuals are welcome to bring bikes and strollers, and to complete as much or all of the 6-mile loop as they are able. This is the seventh of 10 hikes in the school's Life's a Hike series and is sponsored by Ghareeb Dental Group. For more information about the hike series, visit www.educatewv.com.

Valley Village People to meet
The Kanawha Valley Village People: will meet at 2 p.m. Saturday on the second floor of the St. Albans Library, 402 4th St. in St. Albans. KVVP is an organization of mostly seniors that supports its members by coordinating access to services that promote aging in place, social connections, health and well-being. Finger foods and beverages, a report from the Membership Committee, and discussion of membership criteria and services will be featured at the meeting. Women educators' group to meet
Alpha Theta Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa will meet at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church of Dunbar. A speaker from the Children's Home Society will be featured. For information, call Ethel Rooper at 304-562-3121.

ACT English review
Kanawha Valley Community and Technical College will offer an ACT English review class from 5 to 7 p.m. on the following Wednesdays: April 24, May 1, May 8 and May 15 at the college, 2001 Union Carbide Dr., South Charleston. Registration fee is $59. The program provides a basic review of high school English skills including parts of speech, punctuation, grammar, usage and sentence structure.
