WVU fund-raising push hits $629M with 3 years left
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- The fund-raising campaign at West Virginia University has hit $629 million.
The WVU Foundation announced Thursday that donors have given $24 million to the "State of Minds'' campaign since Jan. 1.
Those gifts include $4 million from BrickStreet Foundation and the donation of a vast and valuable "Star Trek'' music collection from composer and alumnus Jay Chattaway.
Three years remain in the campaign, but it's already at 84 percent of the $750 million goal.
Foundation President Wayne King says events are being held nationwide, and organizers want to continue the momentum.
The campaign runs through the end of December 2015.
