Police investigate West Side shooting
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Police were combing Charleston's West Side for a shooting suspect on Saturday night.
Kanawha County Metro 911 dispatchers said a man was shot at 1406 2nd Ave. at 7:19 p.m.
The man was conscious and taken to CAMC General Hospital.
Police were searching for a suspect they described as a black male wearing dark colored clothing and glasses. He is about 5 feet 9 inches tall.
Police had closed Florida Street, near 1st Avenue and Kanawha Boulevard, to search for the suspect. Witnesses spotted the suspect running through the neighborhood shortly after the shooting.
