WHEELING, W.Va. -- A Beech Bottom woman has been convicted of participating in a botched robbery in which an accomplice was killed.
News outlets report that Melody Fisher entered an Alford plea Tuesday to first-degree robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery. An Alford plea means a defendant doesn't admit guilt but acknowledges there's enough evidence for conviction.
Police say Fisher was at the wheel of the getaway car when Kevin Walnoha was fatally shot by a pharmacist while attempting to rob the Elm Grove Pharmacy on May 25, 2012.
An investigation concluded that the shooting was justified.
Fisher is to be sentenced May 15 in Ohio County Circuit Court.
