Man gets prison in heroin ball sales
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A Charleston man who sold "heroin balls" was sentenced in federal court Tuesday.
U.S. District Judge Thomas Johnston sentenced Jeremiah Moffett, 35, to one year and six months in federal prison, according to a news release from U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin.
In 2010, police searched Moffett's residence and found 56 balls of heroin and six firearms, the release states. He told police he sold the heroin, which he broke down into balls, for $50 apiece.
