Three were in stolen car, police say
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A Charleston man and woman stole a car from the man's grandmother on Tuesday, police said.
The pair allegedly drove the car with another man along U.S. 119 near Davis Creek on Wednesday morning.
Anthony Ross Harmon, 25, and Ashley Nichole Wilkinson, 24, were charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, a felony. Phillip Lane Daughtery Jr., 39, of Suwanee, Ga., was charged with misdemeanor joyriding.
On Wednesday, Kanawha County Sheriff's Department Sgt. J.H. Thaxton allegedly spotted a 2007 Honda Accord with a license plate reported stolen in Charleston.
Thaxton pulled the car over on MacCorkle Avenue in Charleston, Cpl. Brian Humphreys said in a news release. The car belongs to Harmon's grandmother and Wilkinson was found driving the car at the time, according to the release.
Harmon is currently in South Central Regional Jail in lieu of a $10,000 bail. Wilkinson is in jail in lieu of a $2,500 bail. Daughtery posted bail after an arraignment hearing in Kanawha County Magistrate Court.
