"Ride on the Ridges"
The Putnam County Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Winfield Lions Club, Putnam County Parks and Recreation and the Winfield McDonald's is sponsoring a challenging, 30, 40, 50, and 62-mile scenic bicycle ride on the ridges of Putnam County beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 18 at the Putnam County Courthouse. The cost is $30. Proceeds will benefit the Winfield Lions Club community projects. Community concert series
Cross Lanes Community Concert Series will present Mountain Thyme at 7 p.m. on Sunday at Cross Lanes United Methodist Church located at 5320 Frontier Drive. Mountain Thyme is an all female band, which performs Celtic songs and tunes with an Appalachian flavor. The band features multi-layered harmony vocals, acoustic melodies and traditional music.
