West Union festival set for June 7-9

WEST UNION, W.Va. -- West Union will celebrate West Union Fest this year on June 7-9. The festivities will begin with a parade at 6 p.m. on June 7, with lineup at 5 p.m. at the Senior Citizen Center. The theme for this year's parade is celebrating 150 years of statehood and the 132-year anniversary of the township of West Union.

The public is invited to participate by making a float, driving their antique car, or supporting a local group or organization. Vendors will be set up along Main Street and the "Anything's Possible" buy, sell or trade store is having an open mic night.

On June 8, part of Main Street will be closed for vendors, entertainment and games. The Classic Car and Truck show will be in the parking lot at the senior center. The barbecue cook-off will be held in the Senior Citizen's open lot next to Shop N Save. A petting zoo will be located at the town park, by the football field. Entertainment, contests and games will be featured all day June 8. For more details, visit the website at www.westunionfest.org.

Vendors can pick up a registration form at Town Hall, or visit www.westunionfest.org or Facebook at Doddridge County News. For information, call 304-873-1392.
