DANIELS, W.Va. -- Law enforcement officers who are the best in West Virginia at nabbing impaired drivers are being honored for their diligence.
Called the Top 52 Enforcers, they are deemed the best in the state for drunken- and drugged-driving apprehension. They are being honored at a conference at The Resort at Glade Springs sponsored by the Governor's Highway Safety Program.
The conference that runs through today<co Friday > is aimed at bringing police from around the state together to focus on detecting and apprehending drivers suspected of being under the influence.
The gathering will include courses that focus on drunken-driving checkpoints, field-sobriety testing and new laws.
