CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A transportation meeting will be held at 8:30 a.m. Monday in the County Commission chambers of the Putnam County Courthouse to discuss a dangerous intersection on U.S. 35.
A representative from the West Virginia Division of Highways will be on hand, according to Commissioner Andy Skidmore.
Earlier this month, a tractor-trailer overturned and spilled a still undetermined amount of disinfectant chemical across the Buffalo Bridge, causing a 4-mile stretch of U.S. 35 to be shut down for hours.
Numerous other accidents have occurred on this particular stretch of U.S. 35. Plans to complete the remaining 14.2 miles of the highway have been on hold as officials grapple with how to fund the project.
