Feasibility of Parkersburg baseball to be studied
PARKERSBURG, W.Va. -- Officials in the Parkersburg area are looking at bringing a minor league baseball team to the city.
The Wood County Development Authority has hired consulting firm AECOM to conduct a feasibility study.
Mayor Bob Newell tells the Parkersburg News and Sentinel that officials plan to begin meeting with area economic and development groups on Tuesday and Wednesday to discuss the proposal.
A public meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Belpre City Hall in Belpre, Ohio.
Newell says the proposal isn't a city project. He says it's a community project through the development authority.
