State lawyer, investigator face conspiracy charges
CLARKSBURG, W.Va. -- An attorney and a private investigator face charges of conspiring to interfere with a witness in a criminal case against a former Shinnston policeman.
Media outlets report that Wheeling attorney Paul J. Harris and Barbour County private investigator Franklin D. Streets Jr. are scheduled to be arraigned Monday morning in Harrison County Circuit Court.
Harrison County prosecutor Joe Shaffer says a county grand jury indicted the men on Friday. The charges include conspiracy to commit threats in official and political matters, and conspiracy to commit witness intimidation.
Shaffer says Harris represents former Shinnston police Kevin Junkins Jr. Junkins is awaiting trial on charges of drug possession, burglary, and embezzlement.
Harris says in a statement that he will aggressively defend himself against the charges.
