Ridgeley mayor charged with misusing purchase card
RIDGELEY, W.Va. -- Ridgeley Mayor Jim Twigg faces charges of misusing the city's purchase card.
Media outlets report that a Mineral County grand jury indicted Twigg on eight felony counts of fraudulent or unauthorized use of a government-issued purchase card. Twigg is accused of making about $415 in unauthorized purchases with the card.
Twigg tells The Times-News of Cumberland, Md., that he has reimbursed the city. He says there wasn't any criminal wrongdoing.
Some City Council members had questioned Twigg's use of the purchase card last October. They alleged that he had paid for unauthorized meals and other items.
Twigg was indicted last week.
