ARC education tour to make stops in state

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Education's role in the economy is the focus of a federal tour that's making several stops in West Virginia.

After making stops Tuesday, the Appalachian Regional Commission's annual Jobs & Food Systems Tour is scheduled on Wednesday to visit Pierpont Community and Technical College in Fairmont.

Federal officials participating in the tour included U.S. Department of Education deputy assistant secretary John White, Appalachian Regional Commission co-chairman Earl F. Gohl and National FFA executive secretary Sherene Donaldson.
