Sissonville man gets 55 to 175 years on child porn, sexual abuse charges
SISSONVILLE, W.Va. -- A Sissonville who pleaded guilty to manufacturing child pornography and sexual abuse was sentenced Wednesday in Kanawha County Circuit Court.
Judge Jennifer Bailey told Clay C. Counts, of Longmeadow Drive, he would spend 55 to 175 years in prison, according to Prosecutor Mark Plants, who said the case was the worst he's seen.
Counts previously pleaded guilty to three counts of first-degree sexual assault, three counts of sexual abuse by a custodian and one count of manufacturing child pornography.
Police said when they arrested him last year they discovered pornographic images on computer hard drives at Counts' home. Officers also learned that two 14-year-olds and a 10-year-old who had stayed at Counts' house had been molested.
"It's the most despicable crime I've ever seen in my life," Plants said.
