CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Two tractor-trailers and at least two vehicles crashed into each other Wednesday night, which closed one northbound and one southbound lane of the West Virginia Turnpike near the Sharon exit.
A Kanawha County 911 Dispatcher said a tractor-trailer first struck a concrete center divider at about 9:30 p.m.
The single tractor-trailer accident spread debris on Interstate 77 near mile marker 76, which caused another tractor trailer and two vehicles to wreck.
Both lanes remained closed while emergency crews respond to the multi-vehicle accident.
Some passengers were transported to a nearby hospital, although the status of their injuries is unknown, according to the dispatcher.
