WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. -- The president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland is visiting West Liberty.
Sandra Pianalto will speak to the Economics Club June 28 at River City Restaurant. The event is open to the public.
Her visit is co-sponsored by the Wheeling Area Chamber of Commerce and West Liberty University's Center for Economic Philosophy.
Pianalto participates in the formulation of U.S. monetary policy and oversees 950 employees in Cincinnati, Cleveland and Pittsburgh. Those workers do economic research and supervise financial institutions, among other things.
Pianalto joined the bank in 1983 as an economist in the research department. She was appointed assistant vice president of public affairs a year later. She has been president since 2003.
