Fayette man charged with child sexual abuse
DEEP WATER, W.Va. -- A Fayette County man was arrested Monday for alleged sex crimes against a minor.
Johnnie Jim Berry Jr., 52, of Deep Water, was charged with one count of first-degree sexual abuse and one count of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian or custodian.
The victim lived at the Berry house when the alleged incident occurred.
The Fayette County Office of Child Protective Services filed a report with the Fayette County Sheriff's Department May 30.
Sheriff Steve Kessler thanked Child Protective Services and Just for Kids Inc. Child and Youth Advocacy Center in Oak Hill for help with the investigation.
Berry was arraigned in Fayette County Magistrate Court and taken to Southern Regional Jail on a $25,000 bond.
