New Heights Church is partnering with WorldChangers for a week of mission work Monday through Friday in Milton. Various activities are planned, including Community Night: 6 p.m., free dinner Wednesday at Pumpkin Park Music Hall. Fairview United Methodist Church, Cross Lanes, will sponsor exercise classes weekly at 6 p.m. each Tuesday and Thursday. Senior exercises will be followed by Christian aerobics. Directions: Off Big Tyler Road, turn onto Rocky Fork. Take the first right up hill to the church.

The Greater WV Jurisdiction Church of God In Christ Women's Convention will be held Thursday through June 22 at Word of Truth COGIC, 911 Terrill St., Beckley. The Achievers' Class of the Fifth Avenue Church of God in South Charleston will open its Clothes Closet 10 a.m. to noon on June 22. Clothes are free to families and individuals in need. The Cross Lanes United Methodist Church, located on Frontier Drive in Cross Lanes, will be serving Sherry's Sweets Homemade Ice Cream and West Virginia cake 9:15 to 10 a.m. this Sunday. The Sunday school brunch is to recognize the 150th birthday of the great state of West Virginia and to honor Father's Day. The ice cream and cake are free. The Eulalia Elizabeth Brantley Missionary Society of St. Paul A.M.E. Church, 1108 Second Ave., will sponsor a special Father's Day Taste of St. Paul 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the church. Delicious food items created and cooked by family and friends of St. Paul will be featured.

A screening of the film, "King's Faith" will be shown at 7 p.m. June 27 at the Marquee Cinema, Southridge. The teen inspirational drama is about second chances. The film tells the story of a foster couple who cares for Brendan King (Crawford Wilson), an 18-year-old attempting to leave his turbulent gang life behind him, but his past continues to threaten his new-found faith, family and future. Portions of the proceeds from the screening will be donated to Bethany Christian Services. Groups can also organize their own screening to benefit foster care families and organizations in their communities. The film is produced by Nicholas DiBella and Faith Street Film Partners LLC. Music

Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church Pastor's Aide will sponsor their annual Fashion Show at 5 p.m. June 29 at the Davis Fine Arts Building at West Virginia State University in Institute. Tickets are a $10 donation. The church pastor, the Rev. Robert K. Davis, is also retiring in August, and the church members hope to make this a big day. The Believers will sing at 7 p.m. Sunday at Thorofare Community Church on Thorofare Road near Clendenin.

Glasgow Church of the Nazarene will have a gospel sing at 7 p.m. June 22 at the church. The Heritage Quartet and The Laborers Quartet will be singing. The BrighterSide Quartet will sing at 6 p.m. today at Burke United Methodist Church, Camp Creek, Clay County. They will also sing at 7 p.m. Sunday at Estes Memorial Church, Witcher Creek.

The David Bowen Family will sing at 7 p.m. Monday at Lucy Wilson Baptist Church, Wills Creek, Elkview.

J.P. Miller's 10th Annual West Virginia Homecoming Gospel Music Concert Event will be held today at the Bridgeport Civic Center in Bridgeport. Doors open at 5 p.m., and the concert begins at 6 p.m. Admission is free. Special music and comedy will be provided by J.P. Miller, along with his friends and family. A silent auction, free gift for the first 60 in attendance, and a kids' section will be featured. A concession stand will be open.

The Chapeltones Quartet will be singing at 7 p.m. on June 23 at the Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Cedar Grove. Pastor is H.B. White Jr.

Fisher Memorial Church will have a gospel sing at 7 p.m. June 22 at the church, located 1/2 mile on Dudden Road off the Goldtown Exit of Interstate 77. The Humphreys, Fisher Memorial Quartet, Freeman Newhouse and the Family Center will sing. Refreshments will be served in the Family Center following the sing.

The Baptist Church of Vandalia Male Chorus will have its concert and Appreciation Service for Leroy Robinson at 6 pm. June 22 and at 3:30 p.m. June 23 at the church, located at 1500 Mountain Road.

Leatherwood Missionary Baptist Church will have its 29th annual outdoor gospel sing at 7 pm. June 28 at the church. The Primitive Quartet from Candler, N.C., and Mike Upright from Penrose, N.C., will sing. Bring a lawn chair. Admission is free; however, a love offering will be taken for the singers. Elk Valley Christian School will provide a refreshment stand. All proceeds from the concession stand benefit the school. This is Elk Valley area's largest gospel sing. Directions: from Charleston take Interstate 79 Elkview Exit, turn left and go 1/2 mile across the iron bridge and 7 1/2 miles to the church on the right. Revivals

Living Water Worship Centre, 513 Patrick St., West Side, will have a three-day revival at 7 p.m. nightly, June 26-28 at the church. The theme is "Broken But Not Destroyed." Revival services will be held at 7 p.m. nightly, Sunday through June 22 at Hopewell Baptist Church in Hopewell. There will be a variety of preachers and singers.

Special services

Rehoboth United Ministries will be hosting the Setting Apart and Installation Services, "It's A Celebration Of Elevation," for Pastor Maritiza Williams, as pastor of Speak Life Ministries. The services will take place at 6:30 p.m., June 29 and at 11 a.m. June 30 at Metropolitan Baptist Church, 205 Donnally St. Pastor Jim Swanson, Pastor Elnora Mayo and Pastor Maritiza Williams will preach on June 29. The Rev. Ron English will give an oratorical sermonic presentation, and Apostle Randolph Witcher the Founder & Overseer of Rehoboth United Ministries will deliver the preached word June 30. Music will be rendered by the Anointed Voices of Praise both days. Guest artist will be Rehoboth Combined Praise Team, Randolph Scott, Shevonda Colvin and Minister Corey Lowery.

Pleasant Valley Baptist Church of Carlisle, will have a Praise and Worship Experience on June 22 at the church. Guest speaker will be Elder/Prophet Brian K. A Father's Day service will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday at Little Creek Freewill Baptist Church. Preaching will be given by the Rev. Jack Suttle. The Rev. David Cook will preach in the afternoon. There will be special singing.

Good Shepherd Free Will Baptist Church, 5470 West Pea Ridge Road, Huntington, will have Sunday school at 10 a.m. Sunday. The morning worship service will be held at 11 a.m. and will be a special Father's Day service. The evening service begins at 6 p.m. with the church singers/choir singing and Pastor Jason C. Black preaching. The prayer meeting and youth group meetings begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate their annual "Family Day" June 29 at the church. A picnic will be held at 1 p.m. with a concert featuring the New Joy Singers from Columbus, Ohio, singing at 3 p.m. Dress attire will be casual.

Vacation Bible school

Diamond Baptist Church, 207 Ferry St., Diamond, will have vacation Bible school from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. nightly, June 17-21 at the church. Classes will be offered for ages 3 through teens. A closing program will be held at 6 p.m. June 21 and a swimming party is planned for 7 to 9 p.m. at the Glasgow pool.

Glasgow Church of the Nazarene will be having vacation Bible school from 6 to 8 p.m., June 17-21 at the church. The theme is "God's Back Yard Bible Camp" with great Bible stories, food and songs. There will also be a special class for all teens. The church is located on the corner of First Street and Second Avenue in Glasgow. The Christian Family Book Shoppe in Smithers will host a five-day Bible club for children ages 7-12, from 2:30 to 4 p.m. June 24-28 in the shop's meeting room. Mount Vernon Baptist Church has scheduled vacation Bible school from 6 to 8:30 p.m. June 23-28 at the church, located on 2150 Mount Vernon Road, Interstate 64, Hurricane Exit 39, Children ages 3 through fifth grade can attend the "Kingdom Chronicles" themed event. "Fair maidens" and "knights" will travel through learn-a-lot chambers, craft courtyard, cook's kitchen, and Sir Gavin's games and learn how to arm themselves with God's full armor. A "Town Criers" nursery will be provided for children up to two years old. A medieval carnival is planned for the last session on June 28. Faith Missionary Baptist Church will have vacation Bible school from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. nightly, Sunday through Thursday at the church, 701 MacCorkle Ave. West, one mile west of Winfield Road near St. Albans. There will be classes for ages 3 through adult. A nursery will be provided. Bible lessons will be on the theme, "Investigation Destination." Become a "Bible Spy" and investigate the truths found in God's Word. Van transportation will be provided. There will be music, crafts and snacks. A special closing program for parents, with awards, a pizza party and ice cream will be held Thursday. Church of Christ, 111 Kanawha St., Belle, will have its "Blue Ribbon" Life family vacation Bible school from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. nightly, July 14-18 at the church.
