OAK HILL, W.Va. -- Fayette County sheriff's deputies are looking for a man who allegedly tried to rob a house near Oak Hill early Wednesday.

Fayette County Sheriff Steve Kessler said a homeowner returned to her house on Gatewood Road a little after 1 a.m. and surprised a man apparently trying to burglarize the house. Kessler said the woman's dog attacked the man, biting him before the alleged burglar ran off.

The suspect was described as a black man, about 6 feet tall, medium build and clean-shaven, with a dog bite on his right leg. Anyone with information is asked to call the Fayette County Sheriff's Department at 304-574-4216.
