Back-to-work information session for people over 50 will be July 2
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Kanawha Valley residents who are 50 or older and unemployed are invited to attend a BACK TO WORK 50 Information Session hosted by AARP Foundation from 10 to 11:30 a.m. July 2 at Goodwill Industries, 215 Virginia St. W.
Attendees will learn about effective job search strategies for people over 50, receive a listing of local job search resources and meet with community organizations that provide job search help and training resources. The session will highlight in-demand jobs such as medical assistant and front office staff.
Job seekers will learn strategies for successfully completing a job interview, what resume most employers prefer and many options for local job skills training. Attendees may sign up to receive one-on-one personal assistance from local organizations. Refreshments will be provided. The session is free, but seating is limited and reservations are required.
