Man sought after escaping home confinement

SCOTT DEPOT, W.Va. -- Police are searching for a man who escaped home confinement and removed his GPS tracking bracelet.

William McCallister, 54, removed the bracelet Saturday evening.  It was found on a boat ramp behind the Kroger in Dunbar, said Putnam County Sheriff Steve Deweese.

McCallister was serving a five-year sentence for felon in possession of a firearm, plus an additional one-year sentence for a second-offense DUI. He also has two pending sex offender charges and will now face felony escape and destruction of property charges, Deweese said. McCallister is 6 feet tall and weighs 182 pounds.
