Mark Cline exhibit
LEWISBURG, W.Va. -- A reception for Lewisburg artist Mark Cline will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. July 5 at the Cooper Gallery in Lewisburg. An exhibit of Cline's new work will run July 1-31 in the main gallery.
Cline is an art teacher in the Greenbrier County public school system. His landscape oil paintings are gestural and colorful, reminiscent of the impressionists' style and handling of color. At the free reception, Cline will play and sing some of his favorite songs.
Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday.
State Museum hours changing
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The West Virginia Division of Culture and History is changing the hours of public hours of operation for the West Virginia State Museum and Culture Center, effective July 1.
The State Museum will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
The Culture Center will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday to serve Archives Library patrons, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
ST. ALBANS, W.Va. -- The Hansford Senior Center will offer a series of four drawing classes starting July 1 and 5.
The beginner-to-intermediate drawing class will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on four consecutive Mondays. The beginner drawing class will take place from 1:30 to 3 p.m. on four consecutive Fridays. The fee is $60, to be paid in full at the first class session.
A free open drawing studio session will take place from 3 to 4 p.m. Fridays.
