Tanker truck crashes into home in Teays Valley
TEAYS VALLEY, W.Va. -- A tanker truck backed into a house in Teays Valley and spilled a cleaning solvent over W.Va. 34 on Wednesday.
The accident, which happened at about 4 p.m. on the 3700 block of W.Va. 34, resulted in the truck leaking more than 40 gallons of a cleaning solvent, Teays Valley Volunteer Fire Chief John Smoot said. The driver was nearby at the Tractor Supply Company when the truck's brake released and it backed into the house. No one was injured.
Smoot said the liquid has a mild combustibility, but none of it leaked into the house. Crews closed W.Va. 34 for more than an hour to clean up the liquid.
Putnam County Sheriff's deputies are investigating.
