Woman cited in Kanawha ambulance accident

By Staff reports

PINCH, W.Va. -- A Charleston woman was cited Thursday after allegedly pulling into the path of an ambulance and causing an accident.

Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority paramedics Christopher Harper and Wade Cox were on their way to an emergency call in Pinch at about 5 p.m., Capt. Sean Crosier of the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department said in a news release.

They came up behind a silver Ford Escape driven by Tiffany Gregory, 29, of Charleston. Crosier said Gregory pulled over to the right to let the ambulance pass -- but then, apparently because of a narrow berm, abruptly pulled left in front of the ambulance to try to pull into a driveway.

The ambulance couldn't avoid colliding with the car, Crosier said.

Harper, Cox and Gregory all received minor injuries and were taken to CAMC General Hospital. Gregory was cited for improper turning, Crosier said.
