CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Police say a man was injured when another man struck him in the eye, possibly with brass knuckles, on Charleston's West Side.
Joshua Jerome Blanchett, 31, of West Chester, Ohio, is charged with malicious wounding after he allegedly struck Marvin Gillespie Jr. in the eye during an incident Saturday at 125 Iowa Street, according to a criminal complaint.
Medical services personnel told Gillespie he would "definitely" lose sight in his right eye, according to the complaint.
The victim was treated and has since been discharged from Charleston Area Medical Center, according to a hospital operator.
