Woman injured in SUV-train collision
BRANCHLAND, W.Va. -- A woman was taken to a hospital after an SUV pulled in front of a train Tuesday in Lincoln County.
State Police Cpl. J.H. Ellis said the accident happened about 1 p.m. along Hubbard Road in Branchland.
The male driver was uninjured, but the female passenger received serious injuries, Ellis said. A HealthNet helicopter took the woman to a nearby hospital. The train's engineers were not injured. The driver apparently did not see the train before it hit the SUV's passenger side door, Ellis said.
