CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The Old Time Bean Stringin' to benefit the Manna Meal Soup Kitchen will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 20 at Capitol Market.
Those who attend are asked to purchase a pound of beans and string them to donate to the kitchen.
There will be live music at the event, which is under the center court roof. A pack of Manna Meal Garden note cards will be handed out to those who make a $15 donation. The organization's garden provides about 3,000 pounds of produce and herbs for the kitchen.
Manna Meal serves two meals a day, 365 days a year. The soup kitchen is located at St. John's Episcopal Church on the corner of Quarrier Street and Leon Sullivan Way.
