Culture and History to hold arts workshop

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The state Division of Culture and History will host a five-day Arts Sampler Workshop for aspiring performers between the ages of 8 and 16.

The free workshops will be held between 9 a.m. and noon next week, Monday through Friday.

After the workshop is completed, participants will have the opportunity to perform in a showcase in the Culture Center Theater.

Music will be taught by Noelle Hardman, a music instructor at Weberwood and Shoals elementary schools in Kanawha County.

Dance will be taught by Lacy Hughes, who worked at The Boys and Girls Club for three years, teaching classes in art, yoga, sign language, creative movement and dance. Drama will be taught by the Division of Culture and History's staff.
