WHEELING, W.Va. -- Ohio County authorities have charged a man with leaving his 9-year-old son locked in a hot car.
Sheriff's deputies arrested Stephen Robert Clemens, 25, on Wednesday at the Highlands shopping complex near Wheeling.
The Ohio County Sheriff's Office tells media outlets that a shopper saw the boy inside the vehicle and told a sheriff's deputy. The boy was covered in sweat when deputies got him out of the car.
Police say the boy was left in the vehicle for 20 minutes. One of the vehicle's windows was open about 2 inches.
Clemens was charged with child neglect with risk of creating injury.
