Clarksburg woman pleads to charges in boyfriend's death
CLARKSBURG, W.Va. -- A Clarksburg woman has pleaded guilty to charges related to the hit-and-run death of her boyfriend.
Amber D. Smith entered the plea Thursday to charges involving drunken driving and leaving the scene of an accident with death.
Harrison County Circuit Judge James Matish says he'll rule Aug. 27 on whether to accept the pleas.
Media outlets report the 29-year-old Smith was accused of hitting 28-year-old Roscoe Keener with a car in August 2012. Keener later died at a hospital.
The charges carry a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison upon conviction.
