Police ID Martinsburg man killed by train
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. (AP) - Police have identified a Martinsburg man who died after he was struck by a train.
The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office tells media outlets that 43-year-old Vincent T. Brown walked into the path of a train. Investigators believe that Brown wasn't paying attention when he attempted to cross the track.
The train was backing up when it hit Brown on Friday on a span of track behind an apartment complex near Martinsburg. Engineers unsuccessfully tried to stop the train.
Brown was pronounced dead at the scene.
The sheriff's office says the death has been ruled accidental.
