Capitol Conservation District offers photo contest

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Capitol Conservation District is sponsoring a photo contest, open to Kanawha County amateur photographers of all ages. Photos must be taken in West Virginia and categories include Conservation Practices like tree planting, Close-Up Conservation like recycling and gardening, Conservation in Action such as school programs and farming, and Agricultural Conservation Across West Virginia like farm markets and farm scenes.

Each person may enter up to five photos. First place winners will receive $75. Winners will be chosen in adult (18 years old as of Oct. 1) and youth divisions.

Black and white prints, color prints and prints from digital photos are acceptable and will be judged together. Judges prefer that photos no larger than 8x10 and not matted.
