St. Albans woman shot in head with pellet gun
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A St. Albans woman who walked into the hospital Monday with a mysterious head wound apparently was shot with a pellet gun.
Capt. Sean Crosier of the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department said Brittany Huddleston, 23, was outside tending to her 6-year-old son in the Riverfront Mobile Home Park in St. Albans at about 8 p.m. when something hit her in the back of her head.
Huddleston first thought she'd been hit by a rock, then discovered her head was bleeding and something was lodged under the skin, Crosier said.
Relatives took her to CAMC Memorial Hospital, where the object was removed. Crosier said Huddleston appears to have been shot with a pellet from an air gun.
The Kanawha Bureau of Investigation is looking into the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective B.K. Carper at 304-357-0169.
