Electricity partly restored at Holly River State Park
HACKER VALLEY, W.Va. -- Holly River State Park has partially restored electrical service after an underground line failure.
Superstorm Sandy destroyed most of the park's aboveground power lines in October 2012. Those lines were rebuilt, and the park reopened in April. But then a two-mile stretch of underground electrical cable died.
All sites in Campground Area 1 were open Friday, and so was the park's restaurant. Bathhouse 4 is open, but three campsites in Area 4 are still without power.
It's cold showers only at bathhouses 2 and 3, which are still awaiting power. And there's no power at Campground Areas 2 and 3, although some campsites are still open.
Holly River State Park is in Webster County. To get the latest on conditions, check the park's website, www.hollyriver.com.
