The Burlew Opera House was on Capitol Street from the 1890s to the 1930s and was a memorable landmark featuring many types of entertainment. Construction appears to be complete in this photo.
Note the mule-drawn streetcar.
The Burlew survived until sometime in the 1930s when the O.J. Morrison store was built and the huge brick walls were made part of the new O.J. Morrison store.
