Capt. Sean Crosier of the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department shows off some of the capabilities of the county's recently purchased BearCat armored car. The $286,000 vehicle was used during Monday's police standoff in Charleston to safely shuttle officers and equipment to and from the crime scene.
Kanawha County Sheriff Johnny Rutherford said the armored car was paid for with money already in the sheriff's department budget. Inside, the vehicle has room for 10 officers and their equipment.
