Robert Hill McNabb, a member of the board of the West Virginia University Foundation, an executive for several international corporations and a member of WVU's Academy of Distinguished Alumni, died in Houston Thursday. He was 66.
McNabb, who was born and raised in Charleston, was an executive vice president at Korn/Ferry International, the world's largest executive search firm.
He was president and CEO of Corestaff Services, a staffing firm.
He was also an executive with several other job placement firms, including Corporate Services Group, Hotjobs.com and Talent Tree, Inc.
McNabb was a state tennis champion and an all-conference basketball player in high school. He graduated from WVU in 1970.
"Bob McNabb was not only a highly successful business executive, but one of the most loyal and passionate Mountaineers I have had the honor of knowing," WVU President Jim Clements said in a statement Saturday. "His love for WVU was inspirational -- from his stories of his undergraduate years here to his service on the WVU Foundation Board and other University committees. We will miss him, and send our sincerest condolences to his wonderful family."McNabb is survived by his wife, Debi; his son, Robbe; his daughter, Kristen as well as his mother, two brothers and a grandson.
