Fayette County man sentenced on pill charges
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A Fayette County man was sentenced Thursday in federal court to almost four years in prison for selling prescriptions pills.
Vernon Peters III, 35, of Kincaid, will spend three years and 10 months in prison for selling about 250 30-milligram oxycodone pills, according to a news release from U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin.
On March 19, 2012, State Police seized 17 firearms and 236 marijuana plants from Peters' residence, the release states.
The following day, Peters sold three oxycodone pills to a police informant, according to the release.U.S. District Judge John Copenhaver Jr. handed down the sentence.
