Metro band concert
The Charleston Metro Band will present a free concert at 5 p.m. on Saturday on the stage at Haddad Riverfront Park. The concert will welcome LST 325, a World War II-era landing ship, to Charleston, and also will honor our armed forces. LST 325, which took part in the invasion of Normandy, will visit Charleston from Friday to Tuesday. Music will include Navy pieces such as "Navy Blue and Gold" and "Anchors Aweigh," World War II-era songs, including "I've Got Rhythm" and "A String of Pearls," and military marches, including "Semper Fidelis" and "National Emblem." Woman's club meeting
The Capitol Woman's Club will have a board meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Charleston Woman's Clubhouse, located at the corner of Virginia and Elizabeth streets. The Club's upcoming 40th anniversary will be discussed. The regular club meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 17 at the same location. Guests are welcome to attend.
Coin club meeting
