By Staff reports

WINFIELD, W.Va. -- The Putnam County Health Department will conduct a walk-in school immunization clinic Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Department of Health and Human Resources office, 3405 Winfield Road, Winfield.

Parents must bring a copy of their child's immunization record to the clinic. Students entering seventh grade are required to have a Tdap booster and one dose on meningococcal vaccine. Students entering 12th grade are required to have one dose of Tdap vaccine and at least one meningococcal vaccine administered after age 16.

Clinical services for the Putnam health department have been provided by the Kanawha-Charleston Health Department since July 1. The Putnam department, which laid off its employees and vacated its Scott Depot location in June, plans to move to a more permanent location Sept. 15, according to Rahul Gupta, health officer and executive director for the Kanawha-Charleston department.
