WHEELING, W.Va. -- A funeral Mass for a slain Wheeling Jesuit student will be held Saturday in Pennsylvania.
Twenty-one-year-old Kevin Figaniak of Perkasie, Pa., died early Sunday at a Pittsburgh hospital. Police say Figaniak and a friend were attacked the previous day while walking toward the Wheeling Jesuit campus. Two suspects were arrested Tuesday.
The funeral Mass for Figaniak is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hilltown, Pa.
Wheeling Jesuit President Rev. James Fleming says in a statement that Figaniak's family has established a memorial fund at the university in his memory.
Figaniak was a senior business major who played on Wheeling Jesuit's varsity lacrosse team. He also was a member of the school's club hockey team.
